Can I live without cheese for 2 weeks?

I watched this documentary on Netflix called “What the Health” by the same dude that did “Cowspiracy” which I saw a couple of years ago. Around that time, I thought I’d try being vegan for a little while, just to see how it went. I’d been having some sporadic stomach issues and my skin wasn’t where I wanted it to be and everything in this documentary was basically like, “if all you eat is plants Read more…

Flowers

It’s apparently still a compliment for someone to tell a woman “she’s as delicate as a flower.” But being a delicate flower sucks. Flowers get stepped on. Pesky children rip off their petals. If they are those fancy store flowers, they depend on incompetent humans to keep them alive. Being delicate can be pretty terrible. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until my mid-twenties, after years of allowing myself to be a delicate flower. Also Read more…

QLC’s 18 Resolutions for 2018

Welcome to 2018, everyone! We know, it seemed a little unlikely at times in 2017 that we would all get here, but we managed to pull through. Everyone reading this should be incredibly proud of themselves. In honor of the many, many, many blogs and articles and traditions that have come before us, here are our 18 resolutions for 2018: We resolve to actually continue this blog. If you thought you’d be rid of us by now, sorry Read more…

Uuggghh

Motivation, Motivation, wherefore art thou? Could you not be of my house, in my brain, inspiring me to get shit done? Why do you hide when you know I have Things to Do? Where are you even hiding? For sure, you have some back-ups like Responsibility and Duty and “Get-this-done-you-lazy-shit-or-you’ll-be-in-some-serious-fucking-trouble”. But I feel like you could put it some more effort. You should be around so that I actually WANT to do the things I Read more…

I’ve lost my attention sp—oh look, a Facebook notification…

I recently met with a former professor of mine who informed me that when he began teaching fifteen years ago, people in their twenties had attention spans of approximately twelve minutes. He therefore designed his lectures to “mix things up” with a class quiz or activity every twelve minutes or so. Nowadays, he lamented, people in their twenties (#mostlymillennialsbutiguessthatweirdzgenerationtoo #imnotgoodathashtags #amievenamillenialthen) have attention spans of approximately four minutes. FOUR MINUTES. Madonna and JT can barely Read more…

Man Children

Man child: a human being you would expect to function as an independent adult male but instead behaves like a toddler. Man children are worse than regular children in a number of ways. To help those of you out there who want to avoid man children (which should be all of you, by the way), here are five distinctive signs of one: Inability to make decisions: Children don’t get too many opportunities to make their Read more…

The thing about being 26

Let’s talk about existential dread quarter-life crises what it means to be in your mid-twenties. You’ve graduated from college, made many of the last best friends you’ll ever make, worked for a few years, and started to realize the sheer monotony of adulthood.  Sure, you can spice it up a bit by moving to a new town, getting a new job every 16-20 months, and adopting a cat.  But sooner or later you’ll realize that Read more…

An even shittier response to an already shitty introduction

Hi. I’m quarter-life-crisis-ridden, mind-fucked author number two. I curse a lot more now that I’m living with my co-author. I am very ok with that. Let me summarize my quarter-life crisis experience for you: I broke up with my boyfriend of three years, quit my job, and went to graduate school. Pretty productive quarter-life crisis, right? Better than buying a tiny convertible like the stereotypical forty-five year old middle class father. Except (drum roll please), Read more…

A shitty introduction

Here’s the deal. We’re millennials, and we want to make money without having to have a shitty 9 to 5 (let’s be real, 8 to 6) job and without having to report to anyone. And it seems like anyone and their mom can start a blog and make some money nowadays, so what the hell. We’re funny people, right? We can write stuff and like…it’ll be great. I promise. Also a general disclaimer – I, Read more…
